Subject: Re: Central core disease symptoms My brother was diagnosed with central core disease about 17 years ago.We were told it is a minor, non progressive condition. Over the last five years he has experianced increasing tremors in his legs and hands, balance problems, fatigue, muscle cramps and aches, twitching and jerking and severe sweating at night or with the least physical activity(eg; washing dishes)along with some strange mental lapses. About three years ago his rheumatologist (who he sees for gout) ordered some test. An MRI established he does have severe arthiritis in his neck and lower back. A EMG showed widespread benigh fasiculations. Blood test had uric acid at 9,and ck around 300. He was told by his rheumatologist he also has fibromyalgia. 1)Which symptoms, if any, are consistant with central core disease? 2)Which, if any, would be for fibromyalgia? 3)Might any or all of these be caused by the arthiritis? 4)Can fibromyalgia or any of these conditions be disabling? 5)Do we need to be concerned some other condition may be at work here? Or would all these symptoms be be attributed to the conditions above?
