Question Title: brachial plexus injury ??? again

Forum: Neurology Forum
Topic: Neuromuscular

I wrote to this form awhile ago. You had answered my question well about a
possible BPI but i have already had 4 emgs and 2 MRIs .i recently saw another dr.
who is going to run anotherEMG . He is suggesting birth injury to the brain stem. But
he said it still does not explain why i am still losing muscles and am in alot
of pain. I would like to speak with a dr . who thinks he would like to find out why
this is going on.
thank you

Thanks for your question. I could not find your previous posting to this
Forum, and the reply that you received. It appears that you have already
undergone a fairly extensive neurological evaluation (EMGs and MRIs).
Another possibility - not mentioned in your current message - that could
cause pain and muscular atrophy that should be considered is vascular
ischemia, that is innapropriate blood flow to the affected arm. Without
the benefit of a physical exam, it very difficult to evaluate the degree
of muscular atrophy that exists in your arm.

If you live in the Cleveland area, the Department of Neurology at the
Cleveland Clinic has a group of physicians specialized in neuromuscular
diseases (Drs. Levin, Mitsumoto, Pioro, and Shields).

If you would like to make an appointment please call
1-216-444-5559 or 1-800-CCF-CARE.

I hope this information is helpful.
