I am on 600 mg of Neurontin and weigh in at 105 pounds. My blood pressure which is usually normal has been 90/60 at the last two doctors visits and I wondered if this could be from the Neurontin?

I have noticed that people have repeatedly indicated that steroid injections have caused burning pain that lasts for quite a duration. Sometimes weeks and months! Is it possible that neuropathy's could be caused by steriods if a person is hypersensitive to them?

Zinc and Vitamin E. I have heard these are used to treat Neuropathy ? Are these used to treat only specific neuropathies of known origin and if so which ones.

Do Vitamin deficiencies ever cause Polysensory neuropathy? and if so what specific blood tests would be used to determine a deficiency?

Thank you for any information you can provide.

Dear Badoir:

The answer to the first three questions is no. The answer to the last one is yes, Vit B12 deficiency can cause a syndrome resembling a sensory neuropathy. It is diagnosed by doing appropriate blood tests.

On reading your string of questions I notice a possible fixation on drugs as a cause of your symptoms. It is my sincere recommendation that you find yourself a group of competent specialists (including a neurologist) that you can trust, and quit using means such as the internet (including this forum) to diagnose or treat yourself.

Good luck!
