Question Title: disection of left vertebral artery. any info on aftereffects and recovery?

Forum: Neurology Forum
Topic: Neurology - General

Diagnosed with "disection of the left vertebral artery" at C-6 level. now "seudo aneurysm" I have a vocal vascular outpocketing that now seems to be between layers of the vessel wall. I am having extreme pressure in back of head and pain similar to what brought it on to start with. Is this a side effect or something that will eventually go away? Or is it signaling that it is trying to happen again? Is there any physical therapy that can help this? Any information about recovery from this type of incident would be helpful. Are these symptoms normal for "brain hemmorage" recovery? What time frame am I looking at? My papers read "vocal vascular outpocketing" minimal narrowing and flow not affected. help?

Thanks for your question. It is of great concern that you are currently
having symptoms in your neck region that are so similar to the onset of
your original vertebral artery dissection. I am assuming that you have
been placed on anti-coagulant therapy (Coumadin/Warfarin), and that your
physician was planning a follow-up imaging study. However, I would strongly
encourage you to contact your physician as-soon-as-possible regarding your
current symptoms and let him/her about your condition.

Once again, please contact your physician immediately.
