Hi: My car was struck from behind last 8/27/96. I have had an MRI which shows a bulging L5 which is causing me pain down my left leg and to a lesser extent my right leg. I have seen a neurosurgeon and an ortho surgeoun. Both seem to agree that the disc is bulging and my pain is the result of it hitting my nerves. I have been seeing Chiropractors/Physical Therapists/Massage Therapists/Rolfer's..seems like I've tried every quack there is and none of them have worked. I do trust my ortho, and last week he convinced me to have a Cortisone Injection. Its been 4 days and its done nothing except make my life especially miserable these past 4 days. I feel like an old man, and I am 31. I was in excellent health prior to the accident. Any suggestions? I know surgery is an option, but I know a few people who have had such surgery and they seem to all be the same or worse overall. Any help is appreciated!
