Hi again.  Could you please read my "Comment by Kim" message to your answer to "Opinions please"???.

Would really like to know what other treatments besides Elavil are available in that class of drugs.

Thanks very much!

Please use this section of the forum for new messages only as the number of messages which can be posted here is limited and this deprives someone of a chance to put even a first question in the forum.

As regards specific drugs, I think this should be discussed with your physician as giving specific recommendations is getting into the area of prescribing, which is outside the scope of this forum.

The general category of drugs which have been used successfully  in this area is the SSRI's  ( Selective Serotonin Re-uptake Inhibitors, a subtype of antidepressants). I suggest that you ask your own physician for his recommnedation within this categoty. I hope this is successful in clearing your symptoms.

I apologize for posting a new question, however, I did not see a reply from you over the weekend and was not sure if you would read my question.  I have an appointment with my Neuro at the end of this week, so I really was hoping for some help.

I understand your point about discussing a possible new drug with my Neuro, however, I asked only because you mentioned there are new drugs out there besides Elavil, but you didn't mention any names.  My Neuro has not mentioned anything besides Zoloft and does not like to perscribe Elavil as it caused many side-effects in his patients.  I'm just not sure if he know exactly what's available.

As I said above, sorry about that.  Didn't realize it was so hard to post as I don't do it that often.

If you could just give me some new drug names so I can run them by my doc, I would really appreciate it.  I just need some guidance.  Thanks.

Hi Kim, you have had a lot trouble posting now and in the recent past!  Elavil is one drug I would not accept again...but if your doctor thinks it is the one, try it!  Zoloft has been a blockbuster for most symptoms...maybe! Good luck! ***@****

Kim, I have experienced CFB for many years now and have received relief from voltaren...now off this med and will insist on another which does not cause problems with my "stomach"! Ask about the new meds for this purpose! (E)

The new cox 2 drugs such as Celebrex may be effective in your case. They do not have the high incidence of gastrointestinal side effects attributed to Voltarin and the other NSAIDS.
