I posted a question on 6/27. I finished my 4wks of doxycyclineon 7/4. I am not better. The doctor I was seeing for lyme wants to wait 2 mths before doing anything else. My reg dr. has concluded that my weight is causing all this. Can that be? Can lupus or Sjorgens present the way I described in previous post? All my tingling, burning, twitching sensations are really kicking in again and I feel really off again. Haven't felt good in between but feel worse now.I did have a low positive ana as well as positive lyme titers which were high. I do have dry eyes constantly, achy joints that come and go, and several other symptoms I already posted. What direction do you think I should be heading? I also want to thank you so much for your time.

Dear Lauraw:
I would not rush judgement on the antibiotic treatment. Symptom relief tends to follow antibiotic treatment slowly and the body needs time to heal. That is of course if you truely have lyme disease. A low ANA titer without other finding of lupus, makes the diagnosis alittle more uncertain. Usually we like to see low C3/4 and C50, together with elevated sedimentation rate along with the clinical symptoms. This is also true with Sjorgen's, the clinical symptoms need to have some laboratory correlates, such as an increased sedimentation rate and gland changes.
Sorry, I am not able to clarify things for you. It is difficult to tell you without the exam and seeing the lab stuff first hand.
