Hello and thanks for answering my question. Im a 27 yr old male in good health. Around august of last year i began having neuromusclar symptoms like twitching,cramps,tingling,burning etc.. along with these symptoms i developed a bunch of floaters and some wierd type of double vision more noticeable on high contrast things like speed limit signs and such. It is far worse at night time. If i close either eye i still get the double vision in the eye that is open and it happens in both eyes. The ghost image is pretty much on top of the original.
While the other things like tingling and such have calmed down this has been the same for over 5 months. I have seen two eye doctors (optho), a neurologist and my gp. All tests come back negative and no one has a clue why my vision is such.
I have had emg's, brain mri w/contrast, two dilated eye exams and a ton of blood work (Thyroid,cpk,cbc,chem20,etc)
Any advice on this?

Dear Chris:
I am sorry to hear about your symptoms. I am not sure what to tell you. Diplopia in both eyes is a bit unusual, especially in the face of a normal MRI and laboratory results. Since both eyes are equal, there must be something in both the muscles that control eye movement in both eyes. This is really alittle on the rare side. I might suggest seeing a neuro-opthalmologist visit, as this might help sort out matters.

About 5 yrs later, I developed dry eyes and more floaters and double vision in each eye. Basically, I have double vision when I have an eye closed or both open. I have also had corneal erosions, corneal ulcers, and light flashes. I now have glaucoma too. I have muscle twitches around my eyes at least every day. Maybe we just need to drink more water. I am learning to ignore some of this stuff but sometimes it drives me crazy. I am not saying you should ignore your symptoms, you should not. You might try some artificial tear drops to see if it helps but see the neuro-opthal too as advised by the MD who answered your post.
BTW, I am 41 now.

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM YOU DO BUT I HAVE PROBLEMS SEEING TRAILS
AND AT NIGHT I HAVE DOUBLE VISION MAINLY ON STREET SIGNS ANYTHING REFLECTIVE I HAVE BEEN TO ALL THE DOCTORS AND THEY COULD FIND ANYTHING WRONG MINE HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR ABOUT EIGHTS MONTHS RIGHT AFTER I AHD MY BABY ALL I EVER HEAR WHATS WRONG WITH ME IS POSTPARTUEM DEPRESSION AND I DONT THINK THATS IT AT ALL
