RLS

by cmj5540, May 04, 2002 12:00AM
I was just tentatively diagnosed with RLS and the nuerologist I am seeing put me on Requip.  I have been taking this for 3 days now.  Since this I have been having nausea and blurried vision within 1 hour of taking the meds, as well as the other symptoms that I am already having.

I have such bad pain in my left calf and up my leg sometimes it is excrutiating and I can not get my leg to work.  My left eye and cheek twitch considerably and I am losing my balance and dropping things with my left hand. I have had 2 serious falls from "blackouts".

The nuero I saw said my c-scan was normal and my reflexes test normal.  He did additional testing however did not state the results.  Originally other docs had thought MS, but the nuero says no.

Please help....I feel like no one believes me and I can not sleep!!!

Should I see another doctor....I am living outside Tampa, FL.

Thank you

If you are truly having balance problems, hand weakness, and blackouts??, than these symptoms are concerning for something more than just restless legs. Restless legs is usually at night, a wormy crawling sensation under the skin where you have to move them or massage them for any kidn of relief. Requip usually helps as do other dopamine drugs.  Your symptoms however, appear to more extensive. Get a second opinion by another neurologist and consider an MRI of the brain (CT is not the greatest imaging study). GOod luck.
