Severe Pain and Scalding Sensation HELP

by CGTMHI, Feb 09, 2004 12:00AM
I have had a cervical fusion C4 thru C7. I have neuropathy in both legs, sick stomach, weakness, swelling, sweating, burning sensation all over. And a feeling as if I am passing out. I have had several trips to the hospitol for this with no diagnosis.

I have cronic pain so I take pain medications. My ankle was once operated on for a swelling like tumor on my left foot. My hair is thining just in the front, I have had breast cancer and chemo.

Two weeks ago I had severe pain in what seemed to be all of the nerves in my body. They broke out on one breast with a scalding of somekind. I live out in the country and am not close to a Dr but if you could tell me any information about what could possibly be happening I would appreciate it. The scalding and pain has stoped now. I am 63.I don't want to go to the Dr if I don't have to.  Thank you,

I do think that you should see a doctor. These symptoms could be due to a problem with the autonomic nervous system. These are the nerves that control automatic functions such as sweating, digestion, and blood vessels. If they are not working properly then you could have abnormal sweating, passing out spells, and even severe pain. Therefore seeing you primary doctor and then a neurologist would be advisable. Good luck

Hey there. I can sympathize with you. I have been having intermittent severe paresthesias that originates in the lower extremeties and coarses upwards. About two months ago, I had a severe sharp pain in the right side of my chest and it hurt to breathe immediately afterward. A few days after that, I started in with severe nausea and general discomfort on my right side from upper abdomen all the way up to my jaw. I still have pain in my chest that resonates through the back right side of my shoulder blade when breathing in and it is exacerbated badly by drinking and eating. My right forearm is discolored constantly and has become weaker to the point where if I carry anything for longer than a minute or two, my arm shakes violently. The muscles in the right side of my neck are enlarge and the discomfort when breathing in now travels all the way up through this area. The top rib on the right side has also become enlarged noticeably in comparison to the top rib on the other side. I haven't slept through the night for over two months as I feel like my legs become extremely heavy when I lie down for an extended period and my feet become sore and heavy. I wake up almost every night with numbness in the pinky finger and the one next to it and when I stand up my feet hurt for a few minutes but then return to normal. I have recently switched doctors as my previous doc refused to do much. He sent me to a Rheumatologist who thinks I have a ruptured disk in my neck and is sending me for an MRI. Both were of the opinion that a neurologist could do nothing but I recently went to see my Chiropractor who refused to touch me and sent me for a consultation with a neurologist who is retired and agreed to examine me quickly. He thinks TOS is a definate possibility and suspects it may involve the vacualr system. He also said that any kind of chest pain related to neck pain/discomfort is yet another indication of this yet these doctors just keep dragging their *** while I sit at home and suffer. I have also suffered bouts of profuse sweating but in the hands and feet only and am getting more worried by the day. Wish somebody could give me some idea of WTF is going on. Hospital visits got me sent home after EKG's and chest x-rays were clear. Other than that, I'm in the dark here.
