Brain deterioration?

Hi, I’m 49F with 10  mo. mix/match repetitive (off/on) sx: vertigo/dizziness, L side face & body numb spots, pins/needles tingling, burning, blurry/dbl vision, bad fatigue, urinary/bowel, tremors, memory, R-ft drop, crampy. weak, stiff legs/arms(occa. mild spasms), very heat intolerant. 2003-3 neuro exams by 3 diff docs=Abnormal-balance, sensation, reflexes.  Bloodwork Lyme/B12/mono/lupus/BP/tons more-all ok. 8/03 MRI ok except 3-4 small periventricular T2 lesions largest .8cm high convexity L-frontal lobe, possible demyelinating disease or (tho does not appear so) ischemic ds. BP good. C-spine MRI 8/03: significant spondylosis, mod. foraminal narrowing C5-C7, some reversal of normal lordosis, spurring that could cause some radiculpathy, no cord encroachment, mild P-bulging 3 discs. 8/03 EEG ab.-frequent thetha bi-temporally, sometx more on left, nonspecific indicative diffuse cerebral dysfunction. 10/03 LP/VEP nor. so doc said unlikely MS, referred rheumy 12/03 did ENA panel-Neg, said ANA 160 speckled due Hashimoto’s. Referred to endro. 1/04 TSH, calcium etc-ok. 2nd MRI-2/04, 15-20 NEW T2 lesions bilat. deep wht matter centrum semioval,corona radiata few mm’s-5mm, not acute, nonspecific-seen in sm vessel ischemic change/demyelination (Old lesions not on report)2 MS LP Normal. 2nd EEG–abnormal due to presence of focal slowing in L temporal chain of electrodes/nonspecific. Seizures strongly suspected (no clear epileptiform seen). Numb like novacaine-L-lips/chin area since 6/03.  Often get nicks/burns on hands/legs-do not feel it.

I’m pushing 50 not 60-Help! Thoughts? Thanks

You have not mentioned any information about an angiogram. If this has not been completed, it may be reasonable. Your disease course and history could be consistent with a vasculitis or small vessel arterial disease. You should discuss this with your physicians. Otherwise, I would recommend a second opinion at a large academic center. Good luck.

Could use please tell us what your neurologist's diagnosis was? I am having some trouble understanding all the jargon, so if you can explain what your neurologist told you, first-hand, with regard to what's happening, I would appreciate it.....
