MRI

by froggy43, May 05, 2004 12:00AM
I recently had an MRI scan of my brain/brain stem.  At one particular point my neck and back muscles tensed by themselves.  Not painfully so, just tensed and yet I could not relax them.  The sound at that point was low-pitched and continuous.  I know some sounds are one of my Sz triggers but this did not feel like a Sz.  I was aware and alert.  What might have caused this?  Does this happen to others?

Thanks, Froggy

You most likely had a spasm of a muscle secondary to the position of your head and neck in the scanner. The MRI machine would not have caused this. You should discuss this with your neurologist. Good luck.
