neck muscle strain

I dont know how to describe this sensation but i'm going to try.......I seem to have chronic muscle strain in my neck and upper shoulders which i think is due to carrying heavy bags alot...i have no pain/headaches..... just i can feel tightness in my neck and shoulders , my eyes/nose, like a pulling sensation....a few weeks ago i noticed that if i have my head in certain positions, ie. using the computer or stretching my eyebrows, i can feel an increase tightness with a lightheaded sensation with occassional feeling of nausea and slight overall weakness that goes away pretty quickly....i still get it..it's not all the time but the feeling i get makes me feel out of sorts, lightheaded, not really here....My ? is does the neck/shoulder muscle tightness affect the muscles inside my head pulling on the ones attached to my ears and eyes causing these sensation? When i push on the muscles at the base of my skull above my neck, it most of the time relieves this, but when i let go the tightness sensation returns almost immediately...I hope this make sense... thank you for your time and comments

The muscles in the neck, which are around the spine, have sensors which are used to maintain balance. If the neck muscles are asymmetrically contracting, this may cause dizziness and headaches. You should see a neurologist who can examine you. You may then need a MRI of the cervical spine and physical therapy. Good luck.
I am not a doctor or anything, but it sounds like you need to get an MRI taken of your neck. I had similiar syptoms and the MRI taken revealed a couple protruding disc and a Osteophyte(bony outgrowth from the neck bones) and other things that I still can't get answers to. Just make sure you get a good doctor, as I have yet to meet mine. When I go in I only see the doctor's assistant that does not know how to answer my questions.
My systems: Dizziness, hot sensation in neck when bending anyway, feeling of falling over, ringing in ears, headaches (frontal & behind the ears, tingling of hands and sometimes legs and face and off-balance with severe neck pain every 3weeks(can't move it-locks up). I hope this helped you a little.
