Back and Headache, Arm Sensations, Testicular Ache

by WRATL, Nov 10, 2004 12:00AM
I do sit at a desk @ a PC for the majority of the day, and I understand this may be part of the issue.  This started about 3 to 4 weeks ago, and it was sudden. I had headaches that would start in the upper right-back part of my head and sort of “wash” over to the front 3 to 4 times a day. Along with this, I experience a metallic/tinny taste in my mouth, and feel my ears (mostly left) have a slight pain and pop. Occasionally my vision seems off in one eye. I’ve had from the beginning is a dull to sharp pain that occurs in my testicles. I have taken 2 regimens of Levaquin as my PCP suspected Epididymitis. I recently had blood work done as well, and had a false positive for ANA...very, very low reading according to my PCP.  All major STDs are negative. Some back muscles seem have seized up.  I'm on a regimen of muscle-relaxers (generic of Zanaflex).  I am also experiencing twitching/slight cramping in my left calf. I am experiencing a tingling sensation (like the funnybone) from my wrist area, up my arm and in my armpit. This has been exclusive to the left arm.  I had also felt a warm burning sensation on the outer part of my wrist area 3 to 4 times.  These two feelings occur at various times, and shifting position can alleviate it somewhat.  All of these symptoms seem to occur when I am sitting and seem left-sided.  I have completely changed my sitting arrangements (car/work). I have scheduled an appointment (on my own volition) with a Neurologist next week.  Should I keep this appt, or am I over-reacting?  You professional advice is greatly appreciated!

Your symptoms are quite varied, and without seeing you I cannot unify them into a specific diagnosis. I believe seeing a neurologist would be reasonable. They can review your history and examination and then determine if tests are required. Good luck.
