fatigue and back/neck/joint pain

fatigue and back/neck/joint pain

I am a very active person. I was told in fall of 2004 I have Epstien-barr and rocky mountain spotted fever. Doc gave me 21 days of doxycyline, now, in april 2005 I am just as bad.Heart beats fast/can't sleep well/Upper back/neck pain, tingling hands, very tired, sore neck/shoulder,
concentration is low and when I do minimal exercise I get a little off balance/dizzy. My right. Knee hurts as well as joints in hands/elbows. An infectious disease Dr. said I was at max. symptoms on a scale and should decrease. It seemed to start June 2004 and was bad Oct. better Jan & Feb. and bad 1st of April. should it be going away some or do I need to do something else? My work and family life are much affected.

After some consideration of your symptoms you have provided, its not clear that you have a primary neurological disorder
You do not have a focal neurological symptom that allows a localization to any one part of the brain or spinal cord or peripheral nerve
The joint pains, fatigue, and other symptoms might suggest a vasculitic process (inflammation of the blood vessels) - this can be caused by an infection (such as Rocky Mountain fever) or as an autoimmune disease (activation of the body's own immune system against itself). Low concentration, episodes of confusion, headache, and fever could suggest involvement of the brain blood vessels if you have these symptoms.
Investigations to decide whether you have this would include some immune system blood tests, and a tissue biopsy of an affected area (may be muscle, skin etc). A spinal fluid analysis and/or a cerebral angiogram can investigate involvement of the cerebral blood vessels.
Other potential causes that may involve the nervous system include Sarcoidosis, amyloid deposition disease, Lyme disease, but the yield for testing is low. Other rheumatological diagnoses may need to be looked into.

I'm Diane, 38 years old female.
My problem started two years ago with a very high heart bits(180 a min.) and took for about two hours. I had some tests and every thing was ok, healty heart. The next day I had a little weakness in the muscles of lower part of my legs, I asked my dr. and he didn't take it seriously, me neither. But since 4 months ago the weakness(in muscles) is more and I have also at back of my neck, in my hands, arms, tongue, sometimes face. sometimes I've breathing problems, like I have to do my best to have a deep breath. In the begining It was just feeling of weaknes in muscles but now my arms, legs and hands are really weak, even my fingers. For few days I've had twitchings in all over my body but it is less now, when I rest and eat enough then I feel better. During my Menstruation I got more weakness in my left leg and my left arm. I've no problem with my eyes or blader.
I've had EMG a month ago and it was normal, my blood test was ok and few days ago I've had a MRI of my brain and I'm scared to dead because they did two times once without injection and one with injection. Please don't wait any min. if you can help me to calm down.

I have had an MRI which outlines degenerative L4/5 and L5/S1 discs.The L1?2 disc are within normal limits however degenerative change is evident L2/3 and L3?4disc, both showing evidence of signal loss. " What do they mean by the term signal loss"?
Furthermore there is mild degenerative change in the L4/5 disc. It also states that a tear of the posterior disc annulua, associated with focal posterior bulging/protrusion of the disc."What do they mean by a band of hyperintensity is present in the left foraminal disc margin"?
Is degenration a form of arthritis? What is the issues behind dehydration/degeneration for four lumbar disc.
I also have had constant burning numbenous pain down outside of both legs from hip to ankle area. This cannot be explained why?
I am currently on oxycontin 40ml twice daily.
Any feed back would be a benefit to me as being in constant pain is wearing me down.
