could anxiety cause UBO's?

by aliciadawn, Jun 21, 2006 12:00AM
I had an mri done 2 months ago.  Was scheduled for a lumbar puncture, but did not go.  Had some scattered bright foci in coronal radiata area, both radiologist and neurologist said was not in typical pattern for MS.  I have been having anxiety issues for over a year, was perfectly healthy before a panic attack April 2005.  My question is could anxiety or anxiety related headaches show up as UBO's?

The answer is no

These types of UBOs are cause most often by teh normal aging process or hardening of the small arteries, or else high blood pressure and migraine headaches. More rarely they can be caused by mini-strokes, MS, vsaculitis - but these diagnoses are usually apparent by other symptoms and signs

Good luck

ubo's is short for "unidentified bright objects"!!  I learned that from another lady who had alot of experience with neurology!!

Chronic migraines can sometimes cause this.  I wouldn't worry if you are not having symptoms.
