Question Title: The early indication of Prostate or kidney problem

Forum: The Urology Forum
Topic: Urology - General

Dear doctor,

I am 29 years old. I involve in sports activities 2-3 time a week. I always consider that i am a very healthy individual. Few months ago (maybe 6 months), I started to have some strange feelings at my low belly. It felt like a lot of gas there. It happened in particular, if I set down for several hours. Also, I experienced frequent micturition. Sometimes, I had to go every hour in few hours. Sometimes, It was OK. Once a while, the color of the urine was very yellow or nocolor at all.

You have to forgive me about my very limited medical knowledge and poor explaination. I really do not know what is going on. I will be appreciated if you can explain to me. I look forward to hear from you.

Sincerely,

Ke Wang

Dear Ke Wang,

Nonspecific lower abdominal pain is common. The frequent urination you describe may or may not be related to the abdominal pain. The simplest way one can detect early kidney or prostate problems is evaluation of the urine by a test called urinalysis. This test can be performed by your family physician oftentimes in the office. Blood, protein, and bacteria are easily demonstrated by urinalysis. I would suggest that you see your regular doctor to be evaluated.
