Question Title: Male Orgasmic DysfunctionForum: The Urology Forum
| |
My husband is 45 years old and in good health. He is able to have erections, but is rarely able to have orgasms with me. He does masterbate and he is not seeing other women. He is very discouraged about this and I think he is overly focused on performance and not pleasure. We have been reading "The New Male Sexuality" by Dear Diane, Orgasmic dysfunction is most commonly related to psychological issues. As you stated your husband may be focused on other things than his own orgasm. Performance anxiety is a very common problem. As your husband was told, there is nothing “medically” wrong with him. This does not mean help is not available. It is encouraging that you have sought help in the literature. To find a sex therapist in your area you might try contacting a urologist. Many urologists have a referral data base of sex therapists. This information is provided for general medical education purposes only. Please consult your physician for diagnostic and treatment options pertaining to your specific medical condition.
