Question Title: Yeast Infection

A month or so ago I was diagnosed as having a yeast infection and a
drug called Diflucan was prescribed. It seemed to make the infection
go away but about 2 days after the medicine had run out, the infection
came back even worse. I have been given another 10 days worth of Diflucan
but it IS NOT working at all! So I have started using a female yeast cream
like Monistat and I have been rubbing it all over the penial area, but
this too does not seem to be working, in fact there is a lesion at the
base of the shaft that seems to be getting larger, my urologist seems to
think that I may be diabetic and that I have a lot of sugar in my urine stream.
So I have bought a home test kit and evertime I take it it shows up negative,
I know these tests are not exact, but doesn't it at least give you an indication
one way or the other? This infection has disfigured my penis and it has
made it extremely painful for me to get an erection. Do you have any ideas
as to what I can do for this? Or maybe any additional suggestions to try to make
this infection go away?

There are several penile lesions which can cause the condition you are describing. These include various infections such as viral, bacterial and fungal (yeast); dermatitis; allergies and tumors. I just want you to know that there are several other conditions which needs to be excluded before labeling the diagnosis as yeast infection.

The management protocol for yeast infection will be as follows:

Confirm the diagnosis by microscopic documentation
Antifungal drugs
Improved personal hygiene: keep the area dry, wears loose cotton undergarments and don't stay in a wet swim suit for long
Watch intake of sweets and take yogurt
Avoid any antibiotics for minor infections elsewhere in the body.
Exclude diabetes mellitus
Sometimes males require circumcision if yeast infection is resistant to treatment

Consult a doctor specializing in this type of disease who can exclude other causes for similar problem.
