Question Title: Kidney cyst

I had a CT scan done in Aug. 1998 (post tx for H. Pylori)
A cyst was found on my left kidney and 2 cysts on right ovary.
HX: Bilateral mastectomies CA, 1987
Hyster/Unilateral oophor 1985 Benign
Parathyroid adenoma 1997
Total Thyroidectomy 1990

My MD had US performed on right ovary only (multiple septations)

Question: Do I need US of kidney to rule out CA because of hx?
Should I be concerned?

Thanks for your question.
Simple cyst of the kidney are very common as one grows older. A CT scan with contrast is excellent for determining the characteristics of renal lesions. If the cyst is a simple one ( not complex) , you may want to obtain a follow-up ultrasound in two years to make sure it has not changed.
