Question Title: White particles in urine.

Forum: The Urology Forum
Topic: Kidney/Urinary Stones

I am a 33 year old female. I noticed a lot of white
particles in my urine when I took a home pregnancy
test. It was negative by the way. I am just wondering
if this is normal or if it is the start of a stone.
Sometimes I feel as if I am having minor menstrual cramps,
but other than that I have no other symptoms.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dear Mindy,
Thanks for your question.
Though cloudy urine may have crystals as the cause, it is not alone indicative of stones. It may be related to the temperature of the urine when you did your evaluation as well as an infection. In the absence of blood (microscopic or obvious) and especially if it not constant, it does not need to be evaluated.
Certainly if is persistent I would consider a urinalysis.
