Question Title: bedwetting

Forum: The Urology Forum
Topic: Incontinence

I am a 27 year old male who has recently started wetting the bed. It happens about twice a month and also anytime I drink a lot of alcohol.

I recently had a physical and everything was fine. What could be causing me to wet the bed every now and then?

Thanks for your time

________
Dear John,
Enuresis is a condition in children who continue to wet the bed , as many as 1-2% of 15 year olds may wet the bed occasionally. Your situation is different in that you were dry at one time but you now occasionally have accidents. I guess it would be easily to tell you to stop drinking alcohol or limit the amount of alcohol you drink at night or even get up once at night to control your problem but you may have some other issues. I think that seeing a Urologist for a full history and physical might help determine the cause of your problem. It is difficult for me to comment on your situation without much more needed information that could easily be recorded in an office setting. Routine labs including a urinalysis would be helpful.
