Question Title: Testicle PainsForum: The Urology Forum
| ||||
| Ive been having some off and on pains in either testicle. Seems like when I do have them and I've had sex it seems to stop in a day or so. I get a pain in lower stomach as well. Ive read things here that it can be a hernia or cancer. If this pain comes and goes can this be just a hernia? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Jerry, The common presentation of testicular cancer is a nodule (hard lump) or painless swelling of one testicle. Only 2-3% of tumors are bilateral. Approximately 30-40% of patients with testicular cancer may have complaints of a dull ache or heavy sensation in the lower abdomen, scrotum, or anal area. It is unclear what the relationship is between the pain resolution and sexual activity. Your symptoms do not suggest testicular cancer. In order to discover the reason for your discomfort, you should consult your physician or a urologist. The doctor will perform a physical exam, which is of crucial importance in helping determine the source of the pain. It will be helpful if you can keep close track of the symptoms, when they present, when they go away, duration of symptoms, and so on, to help your doctor understand the process you are experiencing.
