I recently found a hard bb like mass at top of left testicle, right at joining of epiditymis. feels more like on surface of testicle. had an ultrasound that showed nothing. Urologist told me I had a calcium like deposit that is in the fluid around teste. If that's the case, why does it feel like it is connected? If it is in fluid, should it feel connected to the teste? It can only be felt with pressure on teste, not by squeezing epiditymis. I don't want to be a worry wart, but I don't understand how it can be free floating in fluid, but feel connected like it is growing out of teste. ------------------------------- Dear Scott Thanks for your question. I can not vouch for your physician’s explanation, but I can say if it is not part of the testicle itself ( epididymis excluded ) the chances of cancer is minuscule. A negative ultrasound is very reassuring. A cyst in the epididymis has the same physical exam as what you are describing. Rarely can a calcified torsed appendix testicle/ epididymis ( a rudimentary tag of tissue which projects from the testicle or epididymis which can twist, die , fall off and calcify ) be palpated , besides it would be freely movable around the testicle.
