Question Title: Enlarged Teste

Forum: The Urology Forum
Topic: Testicular Cancer

I am a eighteen year old white male, who has noticed that his left teste is twice the size of the right. There is sometimes pain but not all the time. I did chew tobacco for about three weeks but I have quit and have not had a chew since. I stopped about six weeks ago. I have no idea what this is any idea

Dear Tim,
Thanks for your question.
There may be minimal asymmetry in the testicular size between right and left but one of them should not be double in size. There may be several reasons for enlargement of the scrotal contents including enlargement of testis itself (infection, tumor), hydrocele (collection of fluid around the testis or along the cord) or a hernia. There are also rare tumors of the cord structures. In any event, you need a medical consultation to ensure that it is not some kind of tumor.
