Question Title: I have peyronie since i was a teenForum: The Urology Forum
| ||||
| Hi I am now 24 years old, but I know I have Peyronie Disesase since I was an early teen. Since I have erections, i noticed that my penis made a cruve (like a half circle) down... I didn't know this was not normal when I was a teen.... I only realise that somethin was not well at about... 14, perhaps..... Now, i'm 24 and I suffer with this because I don't know what to do. I don't have the courage to go to a doctor, and tell my parents. Can I do something... to put me well ? I've read some things about peyronie, but never saw nothing that refers to this disease in teens ..... please, if anyone could help me, I would apreciate... I'm sure is Peyronie, but i think i can make a picture, if necessary. Thanks you P.P. Dear PP Thanks for being brave enough to post your important question so not only you, but anyone else can gain some understanding about your problem. Peyronie’s is a benign disease ( non cancerous) which causes a penile curvature. It is not recommended that treatment be performed unless you can not obtain an erection or it becomes too painful for intercourse (for your or your partner). The curvature is usually evident only when the penis is erect so no social embarrassment results from the shower at gym. It is thought of as a fairly rare condition so the exact percent of patients who eventually need treatment is not known, but is thought to be low. Many treatments have been tried with limited success. These include steroid injections, Potaba, and vitamin E. Surgical intervention is often successful in experienced hands.
