Posted by tom on May 23, 1999 at 20:38:06 3 weeks ago, I noticed an enlarged vein on the right side of the shaft of my penis (it became noticeable a day after I masturbated strenuously with a lubricant). I believe this may have been a thrombosed vein so I've been taking Tenoxicam once a day to help relieve the swelling. The cordlike protrusion has lessened considerably since then, but I've noticed a lumpy mass now forming on the left side of the shaft just below the head. The mass is obvious when the penis is limp or semi-erect, but not that noticeable when the penis is fully erect. There is no pain or discomfort, but the skin close to the head feels harder and thicker than the skin at the base. Also, I've noticed that a few drops of urine continue to be released involuntarily seconds or minutes after I've urinated. Sometimes, there is a thread-like, sticky discharge that accompanies these last few drops of urine. Could this be semen? (I haven't masturbated in a while.) I've read about thrombosed veins in this forum and how it usually takes 4-6 weeks to diminish. Do you think this is what I might have? And what about the mass on the left side? Is that a thrombosed vein, too? What about how the last drops of urine are delayed? Please help!

The other swellings you are describing, appears to be dilated portions of vein near the tip (they get dilated due to the block by thrombosis). Over the time it will resolve. The white shreds in your urine need further testing in the form of visuaization under a micrpscope. Delayed urine drops are common and are called as post micturition dribble. If you milk the urethra with gentle pressure after voiding (from the scrotum towards the tip of the penis), this problem will become better. Hope this information will be of some help to you. This information is provided for general medical information purposes only. Please consult your physician for diagnostic and treatment options pertaining to your specific medical condition.
