| What is the increased risk from undesdcended testes brought down at the age of 13 for testicular cancer? Is this something I should really be worried about?----------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Chris Thanks for your questions. The average risk for an American male is 3 in 100,000. An undescended testicle increases your risk by 3-10 X. Assuming worse scenario, 30 in 100,000 is not that high. The scary thing about testicular cancer is that it is the most common solid tumor in the ages between 25 and 30. This is an unfortunate time to get this diagnosis because families and careers are being started. I would highly recommend continued self testicular exam each month on both testicles. Some authors feel you have almost as much risk in the other testicle. More individualized care is available at the Henry Ford Hospital and its urban campuses by calling (1 800 653 6568).
