Question Title: Vasectomy: pain after

Forum: The Urology Forum
Topic: Urology - General

Hello,

I had a scalpel visectomy just eight weeks ago. As i thought it would be painful for only about two weeks, i 'm getting worried as it stays painful uptill today. When lightly touched on the testikels it gives a feeling as i get a kick in it. I even can hardly wear any jeans as it hurts.

Is this normal after 8 weeks ?

Thank you,

Dear Bart,
Thanks for your question.
Chronic pain after a vasectomy is a rare but reported complication. I would see your urologist for his opinion. If feels this is the diagnosis he may refer you for an injection of anesthetics to block the nerve temporarily to see if the pain gets better.
More individualized care is available at the Henry Ford Hospital and its urban campuses by calling (1 800 653 6568). We can also arrange local accommodations through this number if this is your need. Please bring any physicians’ notes and lab test results that you may be able to obtain. These will help us greatly.

This information is provided for general medical education purposes only. Please consult your physician for diagnostic and treatment options pertaining to your specific medical condition.
Sincerely;
HFHS-M.D. MS
