Question Title: Urine in SemenForum: The Urology Forum
| |
I am somewhat concerned. I am 31 years old and for the 1st time, I have had what appears to be urine in my ejaculate. It has happened the last 2 days, that is, the last 3 times I have ejaculated. Instead of creamy white, it is a runny muddy yellow. I feel fine other than that. No pain anywhere. I have been under unusual stress lately, but other than that, everything has been normal. I am concerned about the posibility of infecton or worse. Is this a problem, or will it go away? The color of the ejaculate can vary at times and occasionally involve some blood which can give it a red, reddish-brown, or muddy appearance. This is called “hematospermia” and it is usually benign. This problem is self limited and resolves on its own. The cause for it is essentially unknown, but thought to be possibly related to ejaculation after a period of abstinence. You mention that your semen has a watery yellowish /muddy appearance. Of course, it is difficult for one to assess this over the net and I can not diagnose your specific condition based on our limited information exchange. However, I doubt that you’re semen contains urine, although it may appear that way. In general, if you are feeling well and not experiencing any fevers, burning or any other problems with urinating, noticed any penile discharge, perineal pain or pain during ejaculation, I would say that this condition will most likely resolve on its own. If this does not subside, I recommend you see your urologist. This information is provided for general medical education purposes only.
