Erection Issues

by OD1, Dec 05, 2004 12:00AM
Hi,

Perhaps you can give me some useful advice. I totally function well during sex on a regular basis. However when I am with a woman for the first time, I get nervous that i won't get hard and can't have an erection. The more it happens, the more phobic I get about it. Once I do get it going it is all good.

I thought of using some erection cream to get it going and off my mind. Do you recommend, or do you have a better solution. I guess this is a psychological issue i need to get over.

Thanks.

Certainly psychological factors can have influence on erections (i.e. psychgenic causes).

I would consider a referral to a counsellor to discuss issues regarding anxiety that may lead to erectile dysfunction.  If that doesn't work, you may want to consider a medication lika Viagra, which has been shown to work in cases of psychgenic erectile dysfunction.

You may want to discuss these options with your personal physician.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
