Small amount of blood in urine could it be cancer?

My History: I am a healthy 31 year old male. Was a moderate to light smoker for 10 years. Also I have a history of intermittent testicular pain which has been determined to be benign by 3 separate Urologist – the last being less than a year ago. I still have some discomfort down there but have through stress management learned to deal with it pretty successfully for the most part. A few days ago I noticed after urinating that I had some blood in my urine. The red blood looked slimy/stringy sort of like bloody mucous and it was at the beginning of the urine stream on the 3 times I saw it over a 2 day period and then it went away. It didn’t make the entire urine pink and/or red since the bloody mucous seemed to stay “stuck" together. Thinking back now I know that I had masturbated those two days and right before the 1st time I saw the blood I had recently ejaculated and upon doing so I had a momentary weird sensation like a uncomfortable burning/sharpness in my penis but then it went away very quickly. Soon after,  I urinated and that is when I saw the blood. Also I forgot to mention that over the past several months I have had a fowl urine smell almost everytime I void. I had my blood checked (STDs, Kidneys, white blood cell count) all came back fine during a STD test a few months back. They didn't check my urine for STDs since I didn't have any dripping/discharge etc...my urine was last checked and determined to be fine at my last Urologist appointment the beginning of this year but hasn't been checked since.  My question is, at my age of 31 what are my chances of having bladder cancer and is a urinalysis all that is required? I am really getting sick of being poked and prodded by  doctors. Am I worrying needlessly? Can you give me numbers here?

Any bleeding in the urine is not normal and should be investigated.

The most thorough test for bladder cancer is a cystoscopy.  Other causes of bleeding in the urine can be from kidney stones, infections, or other kidney disease.

In addition to the cystoscopy, you can also consider a pyelogram to evaluate the lower GU tract.

These options can be discussed with your personal physician, or in conjunction with a urologist.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
