Discomfort after urination

For a couple of years, I have had a blunt discomfort in my lower abdomen after urination.  At times it is worse than others. It also seems that I have decreased urine stream at times.  I have tested everything from my prostate to CT scans of the abdomen and so on.  I have seen urologists who don't offer help.  I have had several kidney stones over the years, and one was removed by going in through the ureter with a basket and then leaving in a stint temporarily.  Could I be having complications from that procedure?  I have heard of people developing scar tissue in the ureter.  Is there anything else this might be?

Thanks,

RNR

I'm sure this has already been considered - but ensure that a cystoscopy as well as thorough evaluation of the prostate was considered (preferably with imaging, such as a transrectal ultrasound or an MRI).

If negative, you can consider looking for interstitial cystitis - which also may lead to your symptoms.  A potassium sensitivity test can be done to evaluate for this possibility.

It may be possible that the symptoms can be caused from complications leading from the stent.

I would consider another urological opinion - preferably at a major academic medical center.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
