Penis Burn After Ejaculation

by palegryl, Sep 06, 2006 12:00AM
Last night I had unprotected sex with my fiance. About 2 sec or so after I ejaculated my penis (urethra at the tip) started to burn, it stopped burning while I urinated but started again shortly after that for about 10 mins. No discharge present.

Infectiou would be the most common cause.  Urine tests can be done to evaluate for urethritis, gonorrhea or chlamydia.  The prostate can also be palpated and imaged with an ultrasound.  An prostatic fluid can also be sent to evaluate for infection.

If infection has been ruled out, dermatitis or a fungal skin disease are also possible.  These options can be discussed with a dermatologist.

A cystoscopy can also be considered to rule out anatomical abnormalities (i.e. a urethral stricture or polyp).

These options can be discussed with your urologist.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
