Urge to urinate, no pain, related to something I did?

Jan 24th, engaged in protected vaginal sex with sex worker in Eurpoe on business trip. Lube/Spermicide was used in the condom. Day after got signs of UTI but no pain in urination. No discharge. Couldnt be seen for 2 weeks (till i returned to US).

Feb 7th, I got back to US. At that point most all symptoms were gone, still had a slight tingle sensation in penis tip. Saw nurse, got Cipro for 5 days to knock out any UTI or STD all went good.

Feb 13th, After finishing Cipro had back pain (kidney area) , also my stool pattern changed, looked fibery (no diareha).

Feb 16th, Went back to see Dr this time and was given Doxyciline for 2 weeks. He suspected Prostatitis. After a couple days back pain gone. continued Doxy for about 1.5 weeks then stopped.

Mar 2nd, for past week felt pretty decent, never had the urge to urinate since the first week of sexual exposure. While at work got a feeling over me that I had to go make bowel movement. I did, was diareha. Following the movement for the next 2 hours I had the constant urge to urinate, by the time i got home it was gone. I called Dr. and they agreed I needed to go back on Cipro for 3 weeks to flush whatever I have out.

Here I am about 6 days into 3 week cipro. My urge to urinate has gone down from past 2 days, but still there. I can hold it, but its always there. I've also had some discomfort betweek my testicles and anus...no pain, just discomfort. based on my actions on Jan 24th till now, does it look like bacteria infection or does this look more like prostate problmes. Coincidence?

I agree with the extended courses of antibiotics to treat possible prostatitis.  Massaging the prostate as well as a transrectal ultrasound can be considered to further evaluate for prostatitis or a prostatic abscess.  Analysis of the prostatic fluid can also be done to ensure any bacteria is susceptible to the antibiotics.

If the symptoms continue, sending off the stool for analysis and culture, as well as a colonoscopy, can be performed to rule out any possible GI causes.

These options can be discussed with your personal physician.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
