Hello, My problem is a slight sting or burn near end of urination. (nothing else) (male 47) been to internest 2x. might have came after rough sex, but never had this problem so long (1 month) was tested for chlamydia (positive took doxy "monohydrate" (phrmacy said they made a mistake but they said this would also)(indicates chlamydia) 200mg 7 day, now cure cured according to another pcr test)(spouse has it now, being careful)i had 2 urinalisis negative all, also psa neg. (very low) prostate and hernia normal physical test, no other pains anywhere. no pus, stream ok, occaisionally it goes wrong direction for a sec. i burns more when more concentrated urine 1st pee, during short pee no pain. little or no pain from climax. 1. there are few other minor bacterias, trish? 2. even though they gave me doxy monohydrate (by accident and the pcr was neg. i guess its cured, now about a week ago, with no change)i thought they hit it when they found clhamydia, that i found out my problem. 3. should i do trish test or for other bacterias. 4. could this be just a slight irritation near the inside of the tip. does chlamydia irritation last after pcr neg. ide hate to do more invaisive tests. drinks lots of water and cranbury juice. have no other complaints. phyiscally feel well.  jimmy

Trich is possible, and can be tested for.  If this is truly suspected, it can be treated with appropriate antibiotics.

Prostatitis can be considered, and a digital rectal exam with prostatic massage can be done.  Any fluid can be sent for culture and analysis.  A transrectal ultrasound can be done to rule out a prostatic abscess.

If infection is ruled out, anatomical abnormalities like a urethral stricture or polyp should be evaluate via a cystoscopy.

These options can be discussed with your personal physician or urologist.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
