America's Most Polluted Cities

Clean Air: Santa Fe, NM

Clean Air: Santa Fe, NM

Santa Fe, known as the "City Different," is also becoming known as one of the best places to live in America and its exceptional air quality is a great selling point. One reason for low pollution is that Santa Fe sits at an elevation of 7,000 feet. Air pollution settles in low areas, like the San Joaquin Valley. Santa Fe also has a four-season climate that shifts sporadically. A day may start sunny and hot, but in a matter of hours experience rain, snow and/or heavy winds. All this weather activity moves pollution out of the city.
