I HAVE MESSED UP. I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE HELPFUL FOR NEW PEOPLE TO
HAVE...I know it took me a while to find certain things on here!
Welcome to the MedHelp Forum....below are a few tips to help you
navigate around the site to get you started. It is very user friendly
but these are just basics to get you going! Also, read the comments
posted below this added by others for things I forgot or may have put
in wrong!
On the top right of the screen where it says inbox it will tell you if you have any messages in your inbox.
If you would like to send a PM (private message) there are 2 ways
to do this. #1 Go to your My MedHelp (top right corner or screen) and
click compose and put the persons name in and then type your message.
#2 Scroll over the person's name when it is in blue and it will give
you the option to send a message and several other things like leave a
note, view their profile. You can click on send a message and go from
there. PM's are seen only between the two people sending the message.
Also, you can reply to a persons PM by responding in the box below.
If you want to send a note scroll over their name and click send a
note. The notes can be seen by everybody (unless privacy settings are
set not to .... privacy settings are addressed in a different section)
If you click on HOME on the left corner of your screen you will see
current activity between you, your friends, the communities you joined,
if you have had notes left for you, PM's or new friends added, if you
Invitations from someone to be a friend, the option to change your mood
and the option to edit your profile. These things can also be done
under your My MedHelp page.
To locate the Health Pages they are on the right side of your
screen. They are a wealth of information including the Thomas Recipe
for cold turkey/detox, the amino acid protocols, information on PAWS,
information on SUB etc... I would suggest checking those out right
away.
You also have journals you can use. These can be very beneficial
during recovery and after. The journal can be set to be seen by
EVERYONE, ONLY MY FRIENDS, ONLY ME. You can choose that setting by
clicking on the privacy option under your journal entry. If you set
your journal to be viewed by everyone or your friends it is open to be
read and can be commented on by people who have read it and wish to
comment on it.
Another wonderful tool is our Trackers! MedHelp has many different
trackers for us to use. You can track recovery time, moods, weight,
blood pressure etc.... Just click on the trackers option and choose the
ones you want to add. They are pretty self explanatory once you start
using them and they too have the privacy option as to who can view
them.
On the left side of the screen by your name is a bar that says my
shortcuts if you put your mouse over it you can choose to go to a forum
you have joined, your trackers or your watch list. (your watch list is
when you click on watch this so you can follow a thread)
The privacy also can be set for your pictures and notes. If you
will click on settings on the top right near your mood it will give you
alot of options of different things you can set.
It's pretty user friendly and a wonderful tool to have for your recovery!
