Dogs are great for so many things. First, there was the video about dogs sniffing out peanuts for a kid with a peanut allergy. Now dogs can be trained to sniff out low blood sugar. Not to mention that they're great for companionship.

my daughter has a shih tzu and whenever my sugars are low, she will sit by my feet and stare at me.  She will not move until I get up to check my sugar.  She has not been trained to do this.  She started it about 1 1/2 yrs ago.
