Wow, 2 years on an IV is scary.

Propofol is becomming a popular drug of abuse among anesthesia providers.  I recently had surgery and tried to make sure that an anesthesiologist would do the anesthesia not a nurse (CRNA) and they tried to substitute a CRNA at the last minute.  Fortunately I wrote "I'm not consenting to CRNA services" on the consent; I didn't trust the CRNA because she didn't remember things and seemed "out of it" in the preop interview.  It turned out that she was abusing propofol right in the operating room; small doses....until she misjudged and passed out
