I have HepC for over 30 years and I went thru 2 treatments which really helped.  The second time was hard, my husband was killed my children had seen the first time.  I was alone the second time and ended in physco ward for 2 weeks.   THat was a 4 years ago. Now my problem is amonina on the brain,the meds for that is Lactose because the pill form is over 650 monthly.  Does anyone know how to get override and the pill meds. Can anyone tell me about the pill meds

i had a procedure done called a typsy 2 mths. ago where they by passed my liver going to my heart--how long will that last?also they said you have to score a 15 to ge day t on the liver transplant list and i scored a20 so they said i would be put on it.my swelling is unbearable from my feet to my face it feels like i weigh 500 pounds at times,is there anything i can do?i already take 2fluid pills and 160 mlg. lasix every day--i also drink lactose 45mlg. 4 times a day.can u help?im miserable and have many more questions, i also have water comming out the back of my legs when i scratch sometimes.i have hep c and cerhossis the end stage of liver dis, thank you for your time,it seems i cant never get a streight answer...do i have a chance????if so--how much of one

I had Ascities last Dec. (08).  I was drained 5 different times and given albumin infusions.  My Ascities was brought on by having my Gall Bladder removed.  Since I have Hep C all kinds of things happen.  5 liters of fluid were taken from my stomach each time.  An experienced 'drainer' makes it relatively painless.  The Albumin treatments are a sticky substance in given intravenously.  It stops the bleeding, and my fluid was bloody and the fluid.  I was put on the diuretics again and a salt-free diet.  Since then I've started Treatment for the Hep C.  Unfortunately I'm type 1 and its not working....  I'm hoping to last until another, stronger, treatment is available.  Famous last words, right?:)  I had to go to Denver to get this treatment, since the doctors here didn't have a clue what was going on and basically dismissed me.  Your doctors should be able to provide you with some comfort by draining you too.  Best wishes, Pat
