Dear Dr. Lupo,

I have Grave's and I have a noticeable growth in the groiter.  It was only caught with a professional eye from my Gyno.  I am also very petite and always had a high metabolism.    Due to my stature, will that make a big difference to treatment?

The Endo is pushing for RAI and I feel uncomfortable with it.  Is there any harm in trying out the antithyroid for years to see if I could have the possibility for remission vs. synthroid for the rest of my life.  Is it true that I could contaminate my small children, family, friends and others from the radiation and how long must I be away from them?  What are the chances for my children to inherit the genes?  What would you do?
