Pass on Plastic Water Bottles

Pass on Plastic Water Bottles

Here's an easy switch that's good for you and the environment: stop using disposable plastic water bottles. The plastic used to make many of the throwaway bottles (and some of the hard-plastic reusable ones) contains the chemical bisphenol A (BPA), a substance that's been shown to interfere with reproductive development in animals and has been linked with heart disease and diabetes in humans.

Women, babies and young children are particularly vulnerable because BPA can release chemicals that act like estrogen and may negatively impact the development of fetuses, babies and young children. Use aluminum water bottles or hard plastic ones marked BPA-free. And make sure any baby bottles, sippy cups and canned goods are labeled BPA-free.
