Hee hee..glad to know someone else admires The Man! Yes, it's very intriguing the coeliac + thyroid connection. I got diagnosed about 12 years ago. I wasn't sure what the heck was wrong with me, tried the gluten free diet, I learned that Irish heritage could play a part in it. (bah, bloody ancestors! LOL!) Only years later I made the connection. I've been off gluten 100% these past 5 weeks to prove a point.Not easy and totally boring, I crave a thick wholegrain salad sandwich at the moment, but the old bod says, no no no! Not too cold here in overcast Melbourne. First time in history that we've not had a night under 10c...normally it's around -1c where I live. Unheard of for June! Global warming at its best...(now don't get me started on that subject! Hee hee!) BTW I like wine too! ;-)

Hi J. Yes, the amount of knowledge AR has is amazing. I'll be emailing him tomorrow with my calcium / phosphate and PTH bloodwork! I am okay other than the calcium ****! My incision looks amazing actually. It looks better than the first one (this surgeon cut off the first one and gave me a neck tuck, so to speak!). When do you get the scan results - and what were they for anyway? Talk soon! D

I'm so glad to be home, still feeling a bit rough but mostly because of the chest infection and it's hard to cough because my neck muscles just aren't strong enough! hi i read that selenium can help with the conversion of t4 to t3 apparently it works better with zinc and iodine so i made sure these were in the mineral supplements you know whats its like in the uk they wont even test you for t3 let alone give you anything so i was hoping that it will help me feel better in general

hi thanks for the note im doing ok have been taking the vitamin and mineral and selenium tablets and they seem to help but the best thing is my doctor refered me to a new endo i go beginning of july and i am hoping he might agree to do a t3 test. how are you doing are your blood tests showing anything yet. its a horrid time becoming hypo i hope you dont have to wait to long before you stabalise. and good luck with the scan.

i'm having it done on the island, we are lucky here surgeons are pretty good and the surgeon who is doing mine has done 3-4 thyroidectomies a week for the last 20 years! looking forward to getting it over with so i can plan the final details for my wedding! yeah you should look up that book, i got it off of Amazon, it was about £7.95 and it's really good and honest! hope you are ok! hows the weather up there? the sun is coming back down here but a bit chilly! :) x x x
