Hi Trish, Wanted to let you know that I've been thinking about you! Glad to hear that you started your Eprex (sp?) injections... Is it helping with fatigue yet? I bet you'll get some relief soon... Also, have you had bloodwork since starting the rescue drug? I'll be curious how it affects your blood counts. Hope you're still hanging in there! pK

Hope you feel better soon! Hi, I'm Annette, Stage 2 level 2, week 12. I had to reduce riba to 1000 4 weeks ago. REALLY anemic, hard to breath. Taking Eprex 40,000 iu, once a week to stimulate red blood cells (feel a little better......not enough to make a huge difference in life tho) Let me know how you make out. I'm not on the Test, so payin for everything. Lots of lesions right now. Stay well and happy. Annette

I was just thinking about you and your current situation. I'm sure you've realized that you are a true pioneer in this area. Also, I'm not certain that there has been studies on similiar drugs yet. The other part of this is your clinical trial ppl know or at least may have some idea what has happened in the past with similiar situations, maybe not with the R1626 though. Also, I'm sure they are beyond asking b/c of confidentiality and protocol criteria. Well I am just sending you hugs and prayers as you truly do have a difficult decision to make. I'm sure you have contacted your previous doctor before the tx center, if not for advice then to make sure he can tx you if you stop at the clinical trial site. As always, good luck and God Bless

You have the Riba, right? They won't know if you didn't reduce right? I would never advise going against a doctors order.....but I follow my instincts when it comes to my treatment. KILL THE ******* VIRUS!!

Hello Trish77,
I have been reading about R1626 and it seems to be really helping people with Hep C. I live in Toronto and was wondering how did to find out about this trial. I have not been able to find out about any trials through my Doctor. Any info or guidance you could give would be greatly appreciated. I have been through 2 interferon ribavirin treatments without any real success. I have genome 1A and it seems to be the worst type for treating. Please advise, and good luck with your treatment. Thanks, Mike

Mood: CMcH is finally feeling better. I just thought I'd let you know I am feeling much better the last 2 days. I was feeling so bad that I was worried about making it 40 more wks. When I saw my NP we discovered that a med my other doc gave me last week didn't react well with all my other meds and left me very dehydrated. I dropped that pill, drank a lot of fluids and perhaps the Procrit kicked in but I feel pretty good! I was even able to do Pilates & Zumba today. Even my rash is getting better

Thanks Trish,
I am conflicted because I don't feel that bad. She did say something about maybe I should only run 30 min. instead of an hour but I thought that meant when I was tired. In my heart of hearts I know your right. I just don't want to let this get the best of me to soon. I appreciate your voice of reason. I do have a tendency even B4 TX to do to much and then crash & burn.
I did back out of dancing with my Pilates pals last night because I had just done a 7 mile run. Probably a good idea because today I feel tired and nauseated. For me the fatigue usually hits the 3rd day after the shots.
Enough about me how is your TX/wknd going?

Thank you for quick reply. My NP said to keep doing everything that I was doing and maybe scale back later. I want to keep healthy and strong as long as possible. Maybe I should ask the Forum? You make a good point about resting and giving the meds their best shot.
It seems the 3rd day after my shot I get tired, that is today. So I rest a lot and take naps. Still I feel guilty, it is a beautiful day out and I should take the family and dogs to a park. I told my daughter to give me 30 minutes rest and then we could go. My husband is napping for me.

Just a quick note to say hi!
I am kind of in the same boat as you. I am 48 very active/healthy person that is 1a stage 1/1 and decided to TX. I did start getting some autoimmune DX's like RA and Thyroid so that pushed me to TX because it was affecting my running. I have only had 2 shots and I feel pretty good. I am still able to run but the hills are getting to me. You have been TX for 3 months can you still run?
