Just a note to say hey. I hope you're feeling better than you have been in the past. I can't imagine what it's like to tx b/c I haven't tried it yet. I'm heading in that direction and cheering you onward. I'm approaching tx with extreme caution due to my arthritis. I went to my first support group meeting today, it was very informative and a good place to talk to others that are going thru the same thing as I am. Take care friend and have a good week. God Bless

I've really been lucky so far with the sides. I get tired and winded walking up stairs, but my puffer seems to help so I've been able to avoid the rescue drugs. At one point the doctor was considering procrit, but we tried folic acid and it seems to have helped with the counts. I've recently developed a dry, hacking cough, and I seem to get heartburn each evening now but I am determined to carry on. Sorry to hear that you are having a rough time. I hear procrit takes a while to kick in, so maybe you just haven't built up enough of a concentration in your system.

Hi CMch, I hadn't written to you for zady's. You're in a clinical trial for telaprevir right? I hope you're doing well. I went back to my clinical trial site and I'm hoping to qualify for a Bocephevir (sic) trial. Do you know anything about that drug? I know you been having a rough time with sx's at least in the past. I hope they have simmered down for you. I have another friend here in town on a telaprevir trial, she's a diabetic and has had a really tough go at it. Some ppl just breeze thru and some don't, the medical field needs to fix all that. Well I just wanted to touch base with you. Take Care

Hi CMcH. I left you an email...it's been a while and I wanted to see how you're doing. How did your last test result come back? I hope it's a "0"...is that possible? I never have understood that. Seems like it can never be less than 10...i wonder why. Anyways, I hope you're running like the wind! M

Just a quick note to say hi! I FINALLY got my 4 week test results this afternoon. I'm down to a viral load of 24, which is a big drop from the 9,450,000 I started at. I had really hoped to be UND at this point considering my drop during the first 18 days. (to VL 694). But I'm almost there.
I'm taking my 12 week test a week tomorrow, but I will have to wait another 4+ weeks for the those results. Its the wait that drives you crazy. You are lucky that your tests are so quick and accessible at your work. Let me know how your 12 week test works out.

Thank you for your response to my weird rash and tongue thing. My dr. is always just so busy!! Like I said...he always says...oh that's a side effect. I notice you're a runner. I used to be but now I can only run for like 10 min. and then have to stop. My muscles start to burn and ache and I literally have to stop. Do you still run? That Majic Mouthwash sounds like it might be the right "trick". I need to get some. I get very hoarse and sore during the night and feel it most first thing in the morning. Oh well...just 7 weeks to go. I hope after all this...a "cure" will be in store. Best Wishes to you. mmm

Another pioneer, I was just hoping you are doing better. Just checking in with some of my friends, so I thought I'd say hey. You are in a telaprevir study, right? Be sure and pace yourself, as I'm sure you already know that. God Bless

Yes, its hard to believe how quickly time flies. I gave myself shot #11 tonight. Only 37 more to go! Would you believe that I'm still waiting to see my 4 week results? I went to my GP and requested the 4 weeker, my sample was taken, and it was sent off to public health (which is the only lab that does these tests). The results should have been back after a month, but the Public Health lab put the sample aside because the originating lab forgot to attach a "return to" sticker to the sample. Hopefully, next week I'll finally get some answers. I'm tired these days, and achey in the joints a day or two after my shot, but for the most part I'm doing pretty good. Lots of sleep does help, and my cats are willing teachers of the art of cat napping so I just follow their lead. k

I'm glad to hear that you are feeling better and that it was only a drug interaction that was causing your problems. It is a great relief to feel energy again isn't it? I'm not sure why, but over the last four days or so, I've actually felt a bit more like my old self. I've been able to perform some simple easy tasks (such as weeding) and not have to stop and take a break every ten minutes or so. I hope things continue along the same vein for both of us. I will phone the GP again tomorrow to see if Public Health processed my 4 week test. Fingers crossed.

Sorry to hear you are having such a rough time. I hope today was better than you expected. I also get winded going up flights of stairs, and dizzy. My doctor put me on a "puffer" because I was having problems breathing. Luckily, while low, both my wbc & rbc counts haven't necessitated using any rescue meds.
Congrats on the UND results! I am still waiting to see if I can get the test results from the end of my four weeks. Here in Canada, Public Health will only analyize so many viral counts and my liver doctor ordered the test 18 days after I first started, so supposedly I am not allowed to have another one until week 12. I asked my GP to request the 4 week test, so I will have to see what happens. 9,450,000 to 694 in the first 18 days, so hopefully UND at 4 wks.

Hey you may slow it down about since you started. I am sorry you had so a bad day! I know the feeling the mouth sores are a constant, that and the rash. Its amazing they can perform brain surgey and cant figure out what to do for a rash and mouth sores. I have limited my social life and i know its hard because you have small children, but try and rest when you can!!!!
thinking of ya!
