After having problems getting onto medhelp and being gone for several weeks, I'm wondering how your visit to your heptologist went. Did you get any encouraging news for those of us with cirrhosis?

Hector, Thank you so much for the response and info. I will def have to ask the dr. about that medicine for nausea. The worst time for the nausea was after the shot (about 4 hours after), then through the next day. I hope you are feeling well today. Thanks again, G

Just a quick hello, so you know I have not forgotten you! I have been over busy finishing my semester, trainings and conferences in Brussels, Luxemburg, Dublin and Milano and I am getting ready to leave for Venice tommorrow- I am taking my husband on a surprise trip it's our 20th anniversary (scary but true, I've counted to make sure!)
Checking into the hospital for a week of tests on June 30th.... and then basically "fa niente" taking it easy until the 8th of september...

Hector, I just saw your Woodstock photo. I was there too!!! My brother took me and he got in trouble with my parents. I was only 17. Lot's of people say they don't remember - I remember!!! I came home and had the worst case of impetigo on my face which probably came from the mud and God knows what else I got myself into. Funny to see that pic. Started having flashbacks!!!!

Those people with their drinking questions..........I feel like if you have to ASK then you're just looking for someone to tell you it's ok - and Ijust can't be bothered by it anymore, especially when there are like three of them in a row "Can I smoke pot on treatment" "Can I drink on treatment" "Can I snort heroin on treatment" sure you can do anything you damned well please to do but that doesn't mean its going to be good for you right?

Yay I'm glad I made one person smile for the day! Not everybody always catches my odd sense of humor and sometimes I think I'm the only one getting my jokes! It's nice to try and make a 'different' type post sometimes to shake people up so they get the message. I mean seriously any doctor who thought a viral load wasn't an important piece of information - I'd run as fast as I could. It just makes no sense to me! (But gosh Hector...why didn't we go to medical school when we had the chance I mean who KNEW we could know so much about one disease! Then we could be on the Ask Doctor Debby and Doctor Hector Forum and tell some of the lamo lunkheads in here to shut up). :)

How are you, my virtual friend? How is it without treatment? Are you able to enjoy life a bit more?I'd be happy to hear from you again - sorry about the time gaps, but when I am gone I am basically filling in as many things as possible in order to avoid to stay too long away from home - so it makes for very busy weeks with literally no time for anything else - as soon as I get to my little apartment in Brussels I immediately go to bed - what a wonderful life!
Just came back from my trip - and was awaited by my boodtest results - so my growing joint aches are now explainable - my rheumatoid factor is high and I tested positive on antinuclear
antibodies (does that mean I am starting some weird antiimmune stuff?)Do you know?They are also speaking of speckled fluorescence (???)

I had a great run today in the BTB didn't push myself to hard. I wanted to enjoy every minute of it knowing it was probably the last race I will run for a long time. As I mentioned I start TX this Thursday so unfortunately I won't make the Carnival Parade this time.
Are you on the liver transplant list? How long is that sucker now? What were the sides that you endured? I know everyone is different just trying to prepare myself. I hope you are able to find joy in your life.

Hector what a bummer about them calling you a non-responder. It seemed like it was helping with your VL etc. Did they stop your TX? With cirosis it seems like you would want to cont. and keep the dragon at bay but what do I now. I start this Thursday the 22nd (on my B day) and I am running the Bay to Breakers this Sunday out in your hood. I have run it every year since I was 40 w/my husband for our anniversary, It's a blast! I also do brazilian/Caribbean dancing in the Carnival Parade. Probably not this year and this might be one of my last races for a while. I used to live in the City now I'm down in SJ. Take care buddy.
