I'm posting a long journal about this shortly...but I'm beginning to think that the reason my results have been so confusing is because I have a mix of hypothyroidism and adrenal insufficiency. It might be autoimmune in nature...autoimmune diseases (like allergies) tend to run in my family. My latest TSH was 3.75, fT4 was 1.0 (used to be 1.3 back in May 2008). I think my thyroid is still trying to chug along but slowly failing, while my cortisol levels are spiraling downward, too...maybe bc the pineal cyst is blocking blood flow to my pituitary gland in my head? This can cause it to stop producing ATCH. =/

A physician's assistant prescribed me a 2-week course of Doxycycline, 200mg/day. It wasn't for my cold--it was for my sinus infection/nasal polyp and the tick bite I got (my mom and brother have both had Lyme disease, so the PA was concerned I was very prone to Lyme disease...and my tick bite didn't look good, either). The antibiotics are giving me oral thrush, though, and it's really painful. I feel like I've been hit with a mac truck, with the way things are going. =(

I think you're right about the carotid artery...when I touch the area on the right side of my neck, a little higher than my thyroid, it feels sore. I think I have a lot going on deep within my brand (near the pineal region), causing problems like my neck swelling. I just can't believe these problems have gone on for the past 9 months. I hope they're treated soon! I'm just worried about the CT scan showing the hypodense region.....the fact that I have the "pineal cyst" nearby could mean it's not a pineal cyst...and that it's a glioma or something. I'd happily undergo surgery to remove whatever it is, but I don't want to find out I have something inoperable with a poor prognosis!

I see an Endo dr. next week. This is all new to me. I only got to see my report for a second. So I don't even know exactly what it said. Just a multinodular goiter 4cm.
