Sooooo.... I get this question a lot actually... (how old are you) I am 25. Yes, Im young however my husband and I have been married for 6 years. I have people telling me all the time that I "just need to relax" and it will happen....! If they only knew. Then I get the other people who I don't feel comfortable sharing my health issues with asking me why we don't have kids yet and tell me we need to hurry up ( am I ranting.... sorry ) . So, I also feel that my age sort of interferes with my treatment. Drs just don't seem to really care or don't want to help because Im so young. Such a frusterating thing. Have you had a histerocellpingogram? Where they inject dye into your uterus? What is your next step?

No I havent had tubes checked. They check my hormones monthly by blood draw. Every doctor I see doesn't seem as concerned about the issue as I am. I have my next appt on Sept 18 where I hope to STRONGLY encourage to do laproscopy. I really would like to find out for certain that I have no blockages and everything is normal. I've heard that after laproscopy you have a higher chance of becoming pregnant so Im keeping my fingers crossed. How about you? Tubes checked? What is the injection for? And actually they have never measured any of my follicles. They've checked that they are there but have never given me any measurments. Why do I get the feeling that I'm dealing with a bunch of incompetent doctors? ugh!

San Antonio is beautiful! Im originally from Seattle. We moved here last Sept. to be closer to my hubby's family. Its super warm here now but the fall winter and spring are fabulous! When I went off of the pill a little over 4 years ago, my cycles never regulated. I even went a 6 month period with no cycle at all. Drs claim my only problem is irregular cycle length but they really havent done anything to check. Ive had one ultrasound about 1 1/2 years ago and they said they could see nothing out of the ordinary. This is my second try with Clomid. I did a 5 month stint before. 2 months with clomid, 3 with letrazol. And nothing. Ive never been able to get pregnant. I am extremely concerned that I wont be able to at all but the drs say I need ovulation stimulation and thats it? Frustrating!

My friend is still in the process of stopping the pregnancy in her tubes. They said she should start bleeding pretty bad within the next few days. They gave her a shot that is similar to "chemo" so she should also be getting very sick, but hasn't yet. Once they stop the pregnancy and get everything out, they will check her tubes by HSG.
Follistim is supposed to help the growth and # of follicles. The more and the bigger you have, the better chances of getting pregnant. I didn't get pg. on clomid, but still had mature follicles. Not as many though. I paid $4000 and my insurance has paid out about $2000-$2500. Follistim cost me $708, plus I needed a lot of other meds along with it. They weren't as expensive though.

Thank you and Good Luck to you! I know it is an emotional roller coaster and I am so fortunate that I did not have to do it as long as some of you. It was heartbreaking still! I wish the best for you and there seems to be a lot of success with follistim! I have a friend that has PCOS. She just got pregnant on follistim as well, but it ended in an ectopic pregnancy! :(

I had pneumonia so they did not believe it was going to be successful and it wasn't. 3rd month, I had 3 mature follicles, triggered and did 1 iui. Was not successful. I transferred to another RE and they started me on injections. I took 150 iu of follistim for 6 days, triggered and had 2 iuis back to back. Got positive beta. So, I tried for 10 times with 4 of them with a RE. I spent a little over $4000. I do have insurance that pays for a little, but no medications. Injections are very expensive, but it was worth it for me since it worked the first month. :) I am 11 weeks preggo.
Good luck!!!

I hope I answer all of your questions. :) I will be 40 next week. I have never had PCOS. My problem now is my age. FSH is elevated and AMH is REALLY low. In other words, I am close to pre-menopause. I got pregnant with dd after 2nd try with no fertility treatments. We started trying Aug. 07 and by October, I called OB to let her know that we were having trouble. I told her we had been trying longer than we actually were because I was getting worried about my age. She started testing in Nov. while we were still ttc. After b/w, HSG, and endometrial biopsy, she found nothing wrong and referred us to RE. Went to RE from Jan-April. Took clomid for 3 months. 1st month, I did not have any mature follicles. 2nd month, had 2 mature follicles and triggered with bd 3 days in a row.
