Just a quick note to say hi! How are you doing? I realized that I haven't heard from you in ages. I was out of commission, still am, because I had emergency surgery. Not feeling up to writing a bunch yet, but I will get back in touch with you. Hope you are doing ok. I did write a journal after I go home explaining the surgery. I hope you are just feeling great, having a wonderful summer and busy! Take care, Colleen

Thank you for everything and especially the friendship invite. I, too, am spending less time on the forums because of work and being outdoors in the beautiful weather. Unfortunantly, it's raining, today. We're still having a cook-out with one of my friends, though!!!! It takes a lot more than a little wetness to dampen our spirits up here in Michigan. Glad you are doing good. Talk to you soon. Hugs, Shari

Congrats Joelle for making it back to work! Even if it was half a day it's another step towards your complete recovery. I only wish I could have had mine done already so we all could have recovered together, but July will come fast and I won't mind staying inside while it's so hot out anyway. Just keep resting up when your home and don't be a hero!! Another friend did too much and ended up having her incision open up recently, poor thing. ttyl val

Hope you feel better soon! Thanks for the message, I'm just above NYC and the weather here has been so awful all spring, we are getting a lot of rain and below average temps too. It's not doing my allergies and the cold I've had much good either. Walking the dog in the pouring rain does'nt help a chest cold, but she has to go out.. You have to just remember that we all heal at different rates, and it is a major surgery you've had. I found it's very incremental, and there are days that feel like you've taken a step back sometimes. Just keep resting and eating well, you'll get there. Try unsweetened cranberry juice for the UTI, it helps a lot even if it tastes yucky. ttyl Valerie

Just a quick note to say hi! How r u doing this week, better I hope. I like the new avitar, very circle of life. I can see you haven't gone back to work yet, are you still in too much pain? I finally got everything straightened out with my dr's and will not have to get the extra pre-op tests, the surgey will be in July because it take that long to get an o.r. through the clinic, there's a lot of people waiting for surgery there. I think the hospital limits the amount of clinic patients per week that aren't emergencies. At least I have a plan now and they'll call me as soon as they get the exact date. I'm going to just start getting myself healthy before I go in so I can recover better. Keep in touch and let me know how your progressing. valere

Hi Joelle, Thanks for the note. Yeah I think I have had menopause forever...lol. Your kids are gorgeous, love the photos.. I have redheads too. Hope you are feeling stronger and stronger every day. Remember it does take a good six weeks of doing nothing to really recover. Take your time and rest up. Love and Peace...Kim

Just a quick note to say hi! Your dog is adorable, so are the kids!!! Have you read anything about bioidentical hormone replacement, I've heard some really interesting things about it. They're not supposed to be as bad for the body as the synthetic stuff the drs. throw at you which is essentially made from pregnant horses. (ex. premarin, comes from pregnant mares urine). When I went into menopause just about 2 yrs. ago, I've been only taking supplements and soy, and I don't get too many symptoms anymore, some night sweats but not every night. Val

Hi there! Had my gyno appointment today and yes, there will be a surgery. My cyst is a simple fluid one which is good. Because of all my intestinal surgery he was thinking he would avoid surgery and just aspirate it and leave the fibroid. But once he examined me he realized it required surgery. Because of all the scar tissue and my colon issues he cannot do laporscopically so will have to cut and he wants a general surgeon in there with him. I have to go for some more tests next week and then back to see him on Friday next week and we will hopefully have a date then. Glad to know a plan is coming together.
